With today’s economy we know we all must be efficient with our hobby investment dollars. With the desire to benefit both our customers and Texoma T’s we have developed a multi-option engine plan. This plan consists of a 5 part option meeting the needs of the most economical project and up to the high end Museum Piece or Show Car.
Engine Options
1) Repair - just fix what is broken. The same as if you were to bring your modern vehicle into a dealer. If your alternator was not working he would not rebuild your entire engine. This option provides diagnosis, repairs and testing of repairs only.
2) Basic Rebuild – rebuild only what is out of acceptable specs, new parts are added along with all new Babbitt etc. For the customer with a tight budget, someone that needs a rebuild but does not want to replace everything. You pick and choose what you do or do not want rebuilt. Approximate hour range from 50 to 100 hours. We ask that you plan on spending some time with us. We will break down the engine, list all that is wrong with it and then present you an estimate. From there you will edit the estimate and together we will come to a project cost.
3) Total Rebuild - everything new, bushings everywhere, new Babbitt etc. Best option for your engine, approximate hour range from 65 to 110 hours. As with the Basic Rebuild (number 2 above) we ask that you plan on spending some time with us. We will arrive at a project cost and obtain your approval while you’re here.
4) Museum Restoration - everything new and total cosmetic restoration. This project does not provide an upfront set number of hours and no estimate. Engines are rebuilt and everything is completed to a "Point Car" restoration.
5) Prepackaged Rebuild – when we come across an engine that we have in stock that is in good shape we will at times rebuild these engines on speculation. We will do this as with a good engine, with minimal wear, we can control the destiny and ultimately the price. Therefore we sometimes have rebuilt engines pre-packaged and ready to go at a very good price.
